YOU CAN IF YOU THINK YOU CAN

I notice some of you are doing not as well as your last exam. Why is it so ? I know that some of you may have put in effort but did not see much improvement. Like what I always say, you must give your best, not only try as trying is not enough. Most important, don't give up. Believe you can do it. If you don't make it this time, it's okay. Work harder and you will make it the next time. If you believe you can, you will . If you believe you can't, you won't.

A Trip to Port Dickson

For the year end holiday, the class teacher of 6 Hope had organised a short trip to the seaside. Puan Ng, the class teacher had prepared some sandwiches and sausages for their picnic. Students also brought snacks to share among themselves. They went to Port Dickson by bus.
Before the students started their journey, they gathered in the assembly hall to check their attendance and listen to a briefing. The briefing was given by Puan Ng and the headmistress. It was about their safety and their behaviour. After that, they queued up and boarded the bus. The students were as eager as beavers to reach their destination. They sang songs and played some games in the bus.
About an hour or more, they finally reached Port Dickson. The boys were so excited that they changed into their swimming trunks and hurried into the sea. However, the girls unpacked their lunch under a shady tree and joined the boys later. There were also many people at the seaside. After an hour of swimming, the students grew hungry. They stopped for lunch and ate their food hungrily.
There were a lot of activities to be done at the seaside. For example, Catherine and Boon Seng made sandcastles while Rachel and Eddy walked along the beach to collect seashells. Some of the students were singing while George played the guitar. They were on cloud nine.
At 5 o’clock in the evening, Puan Ng and the students cleaned up the area. They threw the rubbish into the dustbins provided there. After that, they went home. Although they were tired, they enjoyed themselves very much.

Turning Over A new Leaf

Zahid is a stubborn boy. He always watches football matches late at night. Although his mother always tells him to sleep early, he does not listen to her. One night, Zahid watched a match at 3 in the morning. He was so sleepy that he forgot to set his alarm clock.
The next morning, Zahid yawned and sat up rubbing his eyes. He walked towards the window to look at the beautiful scenery in front of his house. Thinking it was a Sunday, he stared outside the window pane , watching some butterflies flutter around the morning glories in his garden.
He then spotted his neighbour, Haziq in a school uniform. Haziq looked up and saw him in his pyjamas . He smiled and waved at Haziq who started pointing to his watch but Zahid just stood there smiling. He thought how silly of Haziq to go to school on a Sunday morning. He slowly walked to the round faced alarm clock on his desk. Its long hand pointed at twelve and short hand pointed at seven. It almost took him a minute to realise the time. He then looked at his calendar. It was a Wednesday. He panicked and realised that he was late for school. Without thinking , he rushed to the bathroom as quick as possible.
He accidentally stepped on a bar of soap which was on the floor. He slipped and fell on his back. He recalled why the bar of soap was on the floor. He was so sleepy the night before that when he went to the bathroom to wash his hands, it slipped off and he did not bother to pick it up. His back was so painful. Luckily , he was not badly hurt. He stood up, slowly limped over to the sink , splashed some water on his face and limped out the toilet forgetting to brush his teeth. He then quickly slipped on his uniform, ran downstairs , right through the door without breakfast.
He ran as fast as his legs could take him, forgetting the pain. When he was about to reach the bus-stop , he saw the school bus leaving. He tried to catch it but it was too fast. He had no choice but to run.
When he reached the school, the hall was empty. All the students had already gone back to class . Looking at his watch which showed 8:30 in the morning , he realised he missed one of his lessons. He ran up the stairs , through the corridor and slammed open the classroom door. Gasping for air, he found forty pairs of eyes and an angry teacher staring at him. He knew he was terribily late. His teacher punished him to stand outside the class for the whole day. He apologised to his teacher and promised himself that he will never ever sleep late again. He decided to turn over a new leaf and become a good boy.

A Snatch Theft

Yesterday, Puan Mona waited at the bus stop to take a bus to the market. She waited for the bus patiently while taking some money out from her handbag. Without realising, a man nearby was looking at her.
Suddenly, Puan Mona felt a tug on her hand and fell down. The man quickly snatched her handbag and ran away. She shouted for help but nobody heard her. She went to a nearby police station. She told the police officer about the incident.
The police officer asked her to tell him the details of the incident. Puan Mona said that a thief had snatched her handbag. She also desribed the thief to the police officer. Puan Mona said that the thief is a short and dark man. He is middle-aged and has muscular arms. The thief also wore a black T-shirt with a pair of blue jeans. He has a square face with short and curly hair. His nose is huge and flat with fierce eyes. The police officer recorded everything she said into a report book.
Puan Mona thanked the police officer and hoped that the thief would be caught. After reporting the incident, Puan Mona went home. A week later, the thief was caught by the police. The police returned Puan Mona's handbag. On that day, she was as happy as a king.
